What a Week!
One of these days, I will learn how to take my own advice and be less self-critical when I make a mistake or cause a mishap that “didn’t have to happen.” But this past week was no comedy of errors; it was a series of frustrations and missteps too numerous for a plausible sitcom episode.
A Window into How Windows Works
I found out how significantly incomplete Windows 10 updates can hinder my progress when working with any Microsoft 365 Office Suite app. I must have read about 100 error messages about the need for running the repair utility.
Three hours of working with a Microsoft helpdesk tech (Akintunde deserves kudos for his level of customer service) straightened out the problem, but it cost me precious time. I hope it will save many more hours in the long run.
Phoneless and Frustrated
Sadly, that wasn’t the only issue that plagued me. I nearly destroyed my iPhone by immersing it in a bucket of mop water. How did that happen, you ask? Well, I was feeling pretty good about having completed a sizable portion of the housework when I bent over to wring the mop. Somehow, I allowed my phone case to slip off my belt and hit the water with a telltale splash.
Not My Best Approach
If it were physically possible to kick myself in the derriere, I would have flattened it by now. But that wouldn’t have reversed the result, and it would have been a waste of energy.
Why is it so much easier to remember your mistakes or blunders than your accomplishments? I know better than to equate myself with my circumstances, but sometimes it’s easier said than done.
Multiple Trials
Long story short, a flurry of maneuvers— including the old “let it dry out in a bag of rice” routine—failed to rescue the device in its entirety. My camera phone no longer functions, and my wallet is $100 lighter due to the other repairs. My apologies go out to any of you who tried to contact me on my phone before my provider restored the service.
It didn’t help that my landline phone developed a severe and chronic case of static either; I couldn’t even use it as an alternative communication source. I still can’t. That will be tomorrow’s service call issue.
Relax—There’s One More Freebie!
Now that I’ve finished venting, I will say that it was an honor to deliver my free Relaxation/Stress-Relief Seminar to those who could attend. By popular demand, I will lead another session at 6 PM Eastern on Friday, June 11.
I recommend you sign in to the Zoom session at 5:45 PM. Since I’m having—you guessed it—email service issues, please email me directly at terise_lang@teriselangwrites.com to secure your slot. For your convenience, I will send you reminders with the Zoom link and passcode. It would be unfortunate if you missed out because I lacked your contact information.
Would you rather just pick up the phone to inquire about the relaxation session and provide me with your email address at that time? You can reach me at 678-314-4782.
In addition, if you indicate you did not receive it yet, I will send you a free copy of my holistic health e-book “Rediscover 3 Simple Ways to Boost Your Energy in 2 Weeks!” in pdf format.
The encore stress-relief seminar will present your last opportunity to sign up for the virtual Ebony Jazzed course at the exclusive beta price. In addition, It will give you a taste of the kinds of activities and the safe environment you will enjoy while taking Ebony Jazzed. I am looking forward to sharing that holistic health course with you.
That’s enough about me. How was your week? Share about it in the Comment box below.
Memorial Day is considered the first holiday of the summer. Still, I remind myself that it is a time to remember veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for what they believed was a worthy cause. Do you commemorate a special veteran? Share about that in the Comment box.
