I designed this week’s video blog to make you a little more aware of the meaning of some of the words we see on labels, like “natural”.

There are numerous toxins occurring in nature, and unfortunately, when it comes to labeling requirements for some so-called “healthy” foods, there is very little oversight or regulation.

Not only that, but because many people consider these products healthy, manufacturers often sell them at outrageously inflated prices, which is inherently as unfair as it is deceptive.

A good thing to remember is that there are many buzzwords that marketers embrace. They use them to puff up their product’s benefits with as much hype and hyperbole as they can muster. But you deserve better.

Over the years, I have become something of a label sleuth. It takes me a little longer to complete my shopping, but I think the time I spend is well worth it.

Sticking to fresh unprocessed foods always seems to be the best approach, so keep that in mind and avoid the trendy stuff. You’ll do better that way.
